Imagine a small road that leads through the woods and emerges at the bottom of a small hill. On top of it a romantic castle stands surrounded by a lake and a beautiful forest. Amazing beauty and feeling surrounds this castle. Trakošćan is the most beautiful Croatian castle. It was founded in the late 13th century as a defensive fortification. Over the years the family Drašković was built up and restored the fort, and today it represents the best of Croatian noble life throughout history. Today, a museum is set up in the castle. The rooms are set with objects from the 15th to 19th century, and the exhibition covers all areas of the castle. Knightly Hall and weapon collection honor the many soldiers from this family. In the hall there are two complete knight armors, and the weapons originate from 15th up to 17th century. The library contains approximately 1,700 books from the 18th and 19th century, which are mostly written in German and French. Pass through the rooms, music room and hunting hall, family hall...
